The Day He Arrives (Kanopy)

Until Parasites I wasn’t aware of how prolific and how good South Korean film is. This one is not “gripping” and is barely narrative. And thriller is not the word that comes to mind. It’s more of a meditative and philosophical excursion through Seoul. But it isn’t boring. Enigmatic is more the word. Looks-wise, the male actors are not heart throbs, but the women are exquisite. In another time I’d recommend watching it with a few friends and then have coffee to deconstruct it.
