Re New Yorker 40 Netflix Films, you beat me to it! I just finished reading through them all and of the 40, I’ve only seen a measly five so lots of catching up to do. I most agreed with the recommendations I’ve seen, except for “The Irishman” which I watched for an hour and found incredibly boring and annoying. I thought “Goodfellas” was brilliant, so it’s not that I’m squeamish.
If you haven’t seen “American Factory,” I thought it was absolutely fascinating. The film-makers managed to capture some extraordinary moments that are so poignant and revealing of working class life in both the US and China, as well as the profound culture clash between our countries.
Sounds like we are on the same page with movies. I got through about 1/2 hour of the Irishman. Looking forward to your take on some of the NY’r suggestions.
