Several friends have said they couldn’t take it, that the people and animal abuse were really too much. I get that. Even Arch Cynic Larry David said he watched one episode and couldn’t take it! So you are not alone. Should I feel guilty for my watching the whole series? Anybody else out there as callous and voyeuristic as I am? I do think it served an important purpose: I, like I’m sure many others, had no idea that this sort of thing was going on. We think that the 21st Century zoo has come a long way from the awful conditions of the previous centuries. But has it? Anybody out there know anything about how zoos get their “residents”?
